Another not-good story

We have used Net10 and Tracfone for the past few years. Husband's phone was Net10 and mine, Tracfone. Both were CDMA phones and we are in a remote area that uses Verizon, mostly roaming. Up until 2 weeks ago things were no better or worse than our previous Verizon contract.

Something happened and the phones no longer work. It probably has something to do with their contract with Verizon. We were told we needed to have a SIM card phone. The bad part - I had purchased a 60 day and a 90 day card one month before I had to. They are refusing to give me a refund, but I think my credit card will refund my money.

Good news - because of your wonderful website I am getting a Doro phone from Consumer Cellular and a free SIM card that will go into an older Nokia 6010 and hoping they will work. AT&T is showing a partner coverage but other residents here have AT&T.

Consumer Cellular have a 30 day Money back trial. My backups are Verizon pay as you go or Jitterbug. Thanks again for your site. I am quite the cell phone expert. I have viewed more coverage maps than I ever want to (most with that awful white NO SERVICE background.)

Since Tracfone and Net10 are forcing you to switch your CDMA model phones to GSM model phones. Tracfone and Net10 should supply you with replacement phones.

I bought a GSM phone before AT&T was available for my calling area. Tracfone would not activate the phone for my calling area. They did send me a different model of phone that would work in my calling area. Once I received the replacement phone and activated the replacement phone, I sent the original phone back to Tracfone.

You may want to see if Tracfone and Net10 will send you replacement phones if you really do not wish to switch to a different provider.

Thanks for the kind words! FYI, the TF/NET10 phones with the SIM cards run on the AT&T or T-Mobile networks. I would be happy to hear about your experience with whichever plan you end up using. Regards.
