Do my text messages cost 30 cents to send and receive?

I don't get it. On the website it says 5 cents and then on the box it said 3 cents, and when I actually used it it was 30? I don't understand. What's the deal? It doesn't seem fair to me that mine are so expensive while everyone else's aren't, especially since mine's the T401g. Can someone help?

Samsung t401g

Net 10 has a deal... ONLY with the T401G phone. .03 cents to text. If you get your T401G sometimes it will show the .05 cents to text. This is a mistake on NET10's part which they are admitting slowly. If you call them (CS) ask to speak with their manager, tell him/her what it say's on your box (3 cent texting)They will have you enter a long code on your phone 4 times to reset your phone so you will only get charged 3 cents to text instead of 5 cents.

Hi Alyssa,i had the same question about the 'displayed deduction', when i first noticed it on a previous net10 phone that deducts the 'standard' 5 cents per text message. the way it is displayed.. it does look like '.30 cents' is being deducted from the t401g, and '.50 cents' on other net10 phones. here's a short story about this topic: the 'previous' phone i mentioned (above), was the lg 400g,when i sent a text message for the first time, i noticed the screen displayed .50, i thought the phone had a 'defect' in the amount charged for sending text messages,so i returned the phone to 'kmart'. i then called net10, and they explained that the 'equivilent' of how it was displayed, was in fact.. the actual 5 cents being deducted for the text message. i think.. more than a few people have had this same question. take care, cell-a-holic

That's 0.30 units or 3 cents
by: admin

Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for your question. I just sent a test message after seeing your question. My screen shows that it costs 0.30 units to send a text message. That's equivalent to 3 cents since 1 unit or minute of airtime costs 10 cents.

How do you like your T401g otherwise?
