Envelope icon with + and X

I sent my first e-mail that went OK. Following this a new icon appeared on the start up screen showing an envelope with a beige colored + sign and a red X. I do not know what this icon means or how to remove it.

Also, do you know where I can get a full user manual, I have the Quick Start Guide that I downloaded from Tracfone, but this does not answer many questions.

Can you please help?

I had the same problem, an X on my email icon ... I deleted a saved, unsent message, in my saved folder and the icon went away... I assume this indicates that the X means there is an unsent message someplace... Good luck.

I, too, have the red "x" on top of the envelope icon on my Tracfone LG420G. I have emptied my draft box, my outbox, changed the messge settings as someone else mentioned, even changed the delivery report and read reply settings as another forum had suggested, but I STILL have the red x on the envelope. Tried turning the phone on and off a couple of times, waiting 10 minutes in between each attempt in the hopes it would reset itself somehow. Still no luck. Anybody have any other suggestions? Oh, yes, it also periodically won't let me send texts at all. Thanks!

I had the same problem, but mine was fixed when I removed messages that had not been sent but were still in the outbox. After deleting them the X went away.

Yippee..Just fixed my LG 420g - I also had the red x through an envelope on my display screen. After several phone calls to tracfone support with no resolution, I searched this problem on the web & found this site. when someone mentioned MMS I searched my phone & found this under "messages", the "message settings", then "text message",then "send long text as" - then I choose "MMS' & the envelope with the red X went away on my display.

I have the same envelope icon on my LG420g and I tried deleting all of my 'drafts' and 'sent', but it's still there! I deleted every message in every folder, and it's still there! I guess it's not hurting anything, but it annoys me. Also this phone shows "No Service" MUCH more than my previous Tracfones. I learned more about the reception problems on this site than I did from Tracfone, who blamed it on the weather. Thanks to all who contribute!

Look in your messages and find "Drafts". Once you delete all your unsent drafts the Envelope icon with red + and red X will go away.

I deleted all sent messages and the icon disappeared.
However, I am still trying to find a complete users manual.
