What About the LG 441G?

by Richard B.
(Long Island, NY)

SB,

Saw on display the LG 441G from Tracfone. Do you think there will be much difference from the 440G?
For some reason, to me it looks like a cheaper version of the 440G.

---------------
Hi Richard,

The only difference I can spot is the HAC (hearing aid compatibility) rating. The 441G is M3/T4 whereas the 440g is M3/T3. I believe the "T" part of the rating refers to telecoil. The higher number is better.

Otherwise they look almost identical, which may explain why the model number only changed slightly.

Regards,
sb

The front flip part
by: Anonymous

Both of their front flip covers have a textured "outter rim". The difference is the 441g has a thinner outter rim than the 440g. again, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE FRONT FLIP COVER.

Visible Difference #2 - the camera lens.
440 has an upside down triangle for the cam lens.
441g has square lens with silver rectangle around it.

Maybe that's like a mirror for selfies?

>My 440g phone takes good sharp pictures
Interesting. The 441G does indeed take poor pictures (fuzzy). It's okay for taking pics of store hours and things like that, but not small text. I do have a prepaid Android smartphone in my car that I got on sale, it's unactivated and has a decent camera.

> My LG441G sounds terrible.
Mine sounds acceptable, better than previous Tracfones I've used. In the past I used to get dropped syllables, don't know why.

Turn off Keypad tones
by: Richard Baratta

To Anonymous, who wanted to know how to get rid of the Keypad Beeps, posted on June 25, 2016:

To turn down the Keypad Tone, go to Menu > Settings > Audio & Ringtones > Keypad Tone > Volume and reduce it by pressing the Down Nav-Key until the screen says "Off".
Then go again to Menu > Settings > Audio & Ringtones > Alert Tone > Alert Type and set it to Silent.

I got this method from Shambhu Borah and it worked for me on my LG440G.

Lost LG 420G & LG 441
by: Richard

Appreciate the comments, seems like a mixed bag for the 441. I was very happy with the 420G but WalMart didn't have any. Is it out of production?

Great Basic Phone
by: D Lloyd

Great basic Tracfone. Easy to use, good voice quality, and not a big investment. Only draw-back is when Bluetooth connects to car Hands-free function, phone continually brings up music play list menu. Apparently there is no way to disable, and this wastes battery power even after turning off alert beep.

audio quality
by: Anonymous

For the last dozen years, every time I've bought a new cell phone it seems the fancier the features, the lousier the audio quality. My LG441G sounds terrible. A friend of mine still uses her Nokia 1100 (which I've had occasion to use recently) and it sounds just like a landline.

Bad Camera Is A Deal Killer For Me...
by: Anonymous

I got mine at Walmart last week. The 441g has some new features such as optional all voice menus. It plays videos in .3gp and also plays Mp3s. File transfers can only be done via bluetooth. USB cable will NOT work. You can read ebooks in the JAR format. It also works with the more deluxe Qioo JAR files.

Useable memory is only about 100 megs, so you can't put too many files on the phone at a time. The memory is NOT expandable.

It is a more highly styled version of the 440g, but the camera unfortunately is out of focus: blurry, fuzzy pictures. My cell phone is my camera so it's a deal breaker for me. My 440g phone takes good sharp pictures, so LG must have dropped the ball on this one. I will use it as a media player. I do like the styling, but I can't live with fuzzy photos.

Front area near camera
by: sb

Okay, I took a look at it in a Walmart and saw that the front of the phone is slightly different. There is a chrome or metallic strip section surrounding the area near the camera lens. I suppose that's meant to give it a more stylish look.
