Good rates for basic cell phone service

by Mike Stumpf
(Tulsa, OK)

When we used to live in Jonesboro, Ar. many years ago, we shopped at a Kroger food store. They started carrying cell phones with very attractive rates. We purchased an LG LX125 flip phone on sale for $29.99 and have had it for maybe 5 years or so with no problems.

We retired and moved to Tulsa, Ok. and I switched phone numbers to an Oklahoma prefix very easily. All we have ever paid is $20 every 3 months. I add time on line at their website. I have never seen a rate that was cheaper.

I-wireless uses the Sprint network, so it's pretty good coverage. Oklahoma has pockets that are pretty rural, so there are occasional 'dead spots', but I suspect it's that way with most carriers.

We don't text, and having just retired, hate the thought of 'staying connected' to every relative, or friend every minute of the day. So we use the phone to call if the need arises, or in case of emergency. The phone has worked flawlessly over the years and sounds good. It is just a phone. That's all we need.

Over the years the company has updated their lineup of phones and I'm not even sure they still offer the same rates, but mine has never changed. I urge anyone to go to ''i-wireless home'' on Google and check it out if you want a no-contract basic use cell phone with great service. Their rates are great!!
