The Net10 Nokia 1600 was one of the only Nokia phones available for Net10.
This phone is no longer offered by Net10. The Nokia 1600 was a good, reliable, basic phone and Net10 had a pretty good offer on a refurbished one where you could get a FREE Nokia phone and 300 minutes for just $30.
That offer has now been replaced by one for the LG300 or Samsung T201g.
When this phone was still available, it included 300 Minutes and 60 Days of Service upon activation as did all Net10 phones at the time.
This compact, open-face style phone is light – weighing only 2.82 ounces.
The battery life is pretty good. You can talk for up to 5.5 hours at a time. On standby, the phone can last up to 18 days.
The phone has a full color display which is capable of loading screen saver and wallpaper images.
You can access your voicemail. It also has Call waiting and Caller Id so you can decide whether to answer the call waiting.
Includes 28 Polyphonic Ringtones You can probably find a ringtone you like and is most likely to standout when you’re with a bunch of friends.
The Nokia 1600 is marketed around the world, so it comes with menus in four languages rather than the usual two. You can set the menu to be either English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.
There’s a calendar to keep track of your appointments. Net10 is one of the few inexpensive prepaid cell phone services useful enough for professionals.
You can store up to 200 entries – that’s a little on the low side, but if you need to enter more contacts, you can choose from one of the new phones, such as the LG 600g, which allows up to 1000 entries
Because it's such a basic phone, you probably won't need to refer to the Net10 Nokia 1600 manual(pdf).
You can get the basic accessory kit from Net10 which includes . . .
The kit includes a Nokia 1600 hands free headset, . . .
And a car charger.
If you order it at the same time as the phone then, you get free shipping on orders of $19.99 or more at Net10.com.
If all you need is a basic phone and plan to use up about 150 minutes of calling/text message, then this phone is a great deal. And since they're cheap, you can afford to treat them a little roughly since it's so easy to pick up a new one!
