Not a Happy Camper with extra charges

by Marla
(Wisconsin)

I've had them for a couple of years now...for my teenage daughters. I need to review their accounts weekly, as they frequently tack on extra charges, or add charges that we never agreed to on to the bill.

I recently removed my charge account from the billing and went to Virgin's top-up cards - painful, but at least they can't gouge me automatically! The latest trick is not applying the Unlimited Text Messaging bundle when I select it on the web. I realized that my youngest has been dunned $0.15 for every message - even though the web account and her phone both said that she had the Unlimited pack. After 30 minutes of stern conversation I got a $20 refund, but my youngest is out at least triple that!

As soon as I find another company that offers a reasonable alternative, I'll be saying goodbye to these charlatans!

Here is the answer to SOLVE THE PROBLEM
by: Anonymous

Wont call you back? Wont return your emails? Wont credit your account? My advise, file a complaint with the FCC. Legally by law they have to respond in a 30 day period. I have gone this route for a service related issue with 3G service. Filed a complaint got a call for a US based center, and in less than 2mins it was fixed. i have not had an issue with anything since then.

Class Action Law Suit
by: ggramk

I feel the same way! I have to watch my account like a hawk now that I am aware of their deceptive, if not illegal charges to my account! Have had to call them for the last two months to have "extra" charges (unauthorized) credited to my account. They send daily "alerts" to my phone and then ding me for each alert-what a scam! Then they will only credit back charges made during the last 30 days! Ask yourself how many hundreds of thousands of dollars this deception has made the company!!

If any attorney out there reads this-file a class action law suit!

Finally it's nice to know that 'WE ARE NOY ALONE.' [read: Misery Loves Company!] These people ARE INDEED charlatans with roving fingers in the till. I let my account run down to zilch one year ago for just thar reason: they claimed that I went through one month of web service in one day. Maybe - if Central Exchange were in the UK! These liars didn't know that they had a old 'timer' (literally and figuratively) with a stopwatch on the line. They also doubled and tripled their web rate in the one month that I used their predatory 'service'. I have a backlog already with cases for the DA and the Attorney General - and better rhings to do with my time than count the dimes being embezzled by the thousands. I got out quickly and intact with a one quarter billing of $20 to $30.

You are exactly right!

I agree 100 percent with you. You are absolutely correct. I have sent over a dozen e-mails complaining about the charges, and they (Virgin Mobile) refuse to address the issue. They are completely unscrupulous, and should be well avoided!
