Emailing

TO SEND TEXT TO AN EMAIL ADDRESS
Enter 36245 (that’s the code for EMAIL) in the TO field. In the text field, enter the actual email address followed by a space and then the actual message. Send yourself an email to see what your TracFone's email address is.

PEOPLE CAN EMAIL YOU
If your TracFone uses ATT, your email is phonenumber@txt.att.net To confirm you phone's email address, send yourself and email with it using the above tip.

TO CREATE A TEMPLATE FOR A FAVORITE EMAIL ADDRESS
Since you can't store email addresses for contacts, use templates...
Messages > Create Message > Message > skip the To: line > Text: enter the email address followed by a space > Options > Save message > As template > Options > Exit > Save to Drafts? > No > END

TO SEND TEXT TO AN EMAIL ADDRESS TEMPLATE
Once you've created the template (see above) it's easy to use...
Messages > Create Message > Templates > Text templates > scroll down to the email address you want > Use > To: 36245 > down to Text field > after the email address, enter the message > Send > END

CAN YOU EMAIL PHOTOS AND OTHER THINGS?
I think so, but it's awfully slow and you get charged for the airtime it takes (plus 1.5 minutes, I think.) Also, you will be charged whether the transfer is successful or not. I gave up on it, but it looked like it was transferring.

If you want to send pics to your computer or email to another person there is a simpler way to do it. I forgot to put in step by step instructions.

First ADD your contact
Put the first name
Put the last name
Telephone number (include the area code)

OPTIONS>ADD DETAILS>scroll down to ADD EMAIL.
type the email address.

You can put your own phone number and email address the same way. I sent a picture via email (yea I was charged minutes.) It beats paying $55.00 a month since I am on a $9.95 ($10.20 with tax) for 30 min and with the LG420G I get double minutes (60 min). It works I even sent a test email to my girl friend.

Photos can be sent to your email via mini web but they charge $1.50 minutes to do so. It can be set up and you just press the name you have in your contacts and it automatically goes to a frequently used email. To send to other emails, I am going to try the trick described here using 36245. You probably have to be on ATT network for it to work properly. Once your email photo is sent it can be uploaded via Hotmail or WLM or any account with that capability. Hope that helps.

Great summary!

I have an LG 420g riding on T-Mobile's network. The 36245 (EMAIL) trick does not work for me.
I should mention that my phone's email gateway is set to 121, and I can't edit that entry.

Instead, I am able to send emails using the the following entries:

TO: 500
TEXT: (recipient's email)#(subject)#(text)

or

TO: 500
TEXT: (recipient's email)#(text)

500 is T-Mobile's email gateway.

Please note that the length of the string "(recipient's email)#(subject)#(text)" counts against the 160 character limit of the sent message.

Such emails show up as sent from
(my_10-digit_TracFone_number)@mmst5.tracfone.com.

got this lg 42 g a few days ago BIG PROBLEMS but mainly i was told prior to buying it i could take pictures and send them to my computer..

and then i got the phone and no darn instructions.. ohhh they are very clear on how to purchase time and minutes..

the manual sucks.. and ther is no information online.. after being a tracfone customer for some 10 or so years i am totally disgusted in this..
