Great in a pinch

This morning my son had a test to get into a special program in his school. The test was supposed to last anywhere from one and a half to three hours. All parents were asked to drop their kids off in the morning. Because this was before the school year had started, the school was not fully staffed. Therefore, they couldn't allow the parents to just hang around or wander the hallways. Once the kids were done they were supposed to call, and there was the problem.

I had finally given my son a basic Android Tracfone. Unfortunately, it was a little too popular and this morning, when I asked, the phone had disappeared. When we finally tracked it down just before leaving, we saw that the phone had no charge.

Luckily, about an hour and a half ago, I dug out my Jitterbug Plus and started charging it. So by the time we were ready to go, it was about 60 percent charged.

So off he went to take his test for the special program with his awesome red, large-button, flip phone!

A little over an hour and a half after dropping him off, I got his call that he was ready to go. The test was quite hard. I gave him a hug and we drove back. On the way back, he sat next to me, and, while snacking on an Oreo cookie, used the text templates to send me silly messages on my phone such as: "Happy Birthday" (it wasn't) and "Where are you?"
