Receiving calls - phone is going into"hold"

by Neil
(los angeles)

I recently bought the this handset. When the phone rings, I press send, as instructed, but instead of being connected immediately to the caller, the phone says that it is on hold and only after a few seconds does it connect. By that time the caller is gone. I can't find any setting related to "hold". Has anyone else had this problem? How can it be resolved?

--------------
Neil,

When the LG 420g rings, try pressing the button below where it says "Accept" instead of pressing send. You should only press "Send" when making a call.

Hope this helps.

LG 420G puts incoming calls on hold
by: Anonymous

I stumbled upon this forum because I had the same problem with my LG 420G purchased today. The simple answer to this enigma, which I miight never have figured out without the other comments, is that the written instructions tell you to answer the call by pushing the SEND button (there is no "accept" button) BUT the phone comes defaulted to answer on opening. So, by the time you push the SEND button, as instructed, you have already answered the call and it somehow concludes that you are answering a second call. If the phone were open and you pushed SEND to answer, no problem.

set to answer on flip open
by: sb (admin)

Go to Menu -> Settings -> Call -> Answer Mode and choose "Open Flip".

BTW, let me correct an earlier comment of mine, it looks like you can set the phone to answer upon pressing the "Send" key.'

As for the number of rings, I don't think you can adjust that on your phone. One person did suggest making a request on the official support forum at:

http://www.tracfoneforum.com/

to have the number of rings adjusted, and they may be able to fix it in their system.

Regards.

Phone not accepting in-coming calls
by: Anonymous

My phone also either says on hold and doesn't connect me to the person calling or doesn't ring long enough for me to answer the call. It deducts a minute for both of these problems. My phone doesn't have an "Accept" button as suggested. How do you set it to answer on flip open? How do you get it to ring more?

phone oing to hold

Neil,
Why not have your phone set to answer on "flip open"? Then you don't have to worry about pushing any buttons.
