Retrieving and deleting messages from LG L238C

I can't figure out how to retrieve and delete messages on my LG 3G TracFone (L238C, I think).

Can you explain it to this technologically challenged person?

I don't have this particular model, but you can find out how to work the various feature of this phone from this interactive tutorial:

L238C Tutorial

So, for example, on the left-hand side of that page is a menu where you can click on Messaging > Delete Messages to see how to do that.
