I want to take it overseas with me and put a SIM card in it. Does it have a place for SIM Cards?

I don't think so. The 8530 is a CDMA phone so it doesn't use a SIM card. The GSM model in the 8500-series is the Curve 8520 which may be available from T-Mobile or AT&T, if you haven't already bought your phone.
If you're going to go overseas fairly often, you may also want to consider an unlocked dual SIM card phone. That way you could leave both cards in the phone.
