Good phone, but customer service sucks etc.
The phone itself is fine, good ringtones, good call quality, and Net10's rates are better than AT&T GoPhone. The only two problems I have with it are:
1. No call forwarding.
2. No hands free Bluetooth dialing with my Plantronics 220 headset. Maybe if I got another headset....
That said, let me turn my attention to Net10's customer service, which can be summed up in two words: It sucks! Bought the phone off the Net10 website, and they sent me a phone with a SIM card that uses TMobile's network. It doesn't work at my house. My wife and son bought Net10 T401g's from Wal-Mart which have AT&T-compatible Net10 SIM cards and they work fine here. So, I thought, I'll get NET10 to send me an AT&T sim. Wrong! The "expert" could barely speak English, kept putting me on hold every two minutes "while her computer updated", and kept me on the phone for 1 1/2 hours of "troubleshooting"
Fortunately, I found an AT&T-compatible Net10 sim card on Ebay for next to nothing, and as soon as I get my free airtime used up on the T-mobile sim, I'm going to switch them out.
All, in all, Net10 is OK, so long as you don't have to talk to customer service. A caveat: TracFone and Straight Talk are owned by the same company as Net10, so their customer service likely isn't any better.
