Remove ringtones from media player list

Hi. I click to add all media files to my media player on the phone, and in doing so it also added all the ringtones I had downloaded. I can't figure out how to delete/remove the ringtones from my media player list. Help, Please and Thanks.

I love the looks and feel of this phone but find it very hard to figure out. Think I'll send it back.

Hi,
Yeah that can be a hassle. I haven't figured out a way to prevent the Media Player from searching all folders. Since I don't have a lot of ringtones on my phone, I didn't realize that it could be an issue.

When you use the Media Player, you can create your own playlists, so you don't have to worry about having to hear your ringtones while listening to music.

On the other hand, if the problem is that it makes the list of multimedia file a mess because it's littered with tons of ringtones in there as well, my solution is to change the ringtone file name as below.

Workaround: Change Ringtone File Names

Get out of Media Player and go to:

Menu > My Folder >

and then navigate to the folder on your phone or memory card that contains your ringtones. There, select your ringtones (one by one) and select

Options > Rename

and rename the file by adding something like ZZZ to the beginning of the file name. Then when you run the Media Player file search again, all those ringtones will appear at the bottom of your list and out of your way. It's still a bit of a hassle, but you only have to do it once for each ringtone.

Hope this helps somewhat. If anyone knows a better way, I'd be happy to hear about it.
