Terrible experience with BYOP SIM Card

by Sheri R.

My son purchased the BYOP kit so he could get a better phone but still keep the tracfone account. His sim card did not work and the representative said he needed a new sim card. That was 3 weeks ago.

He is in sports and has no way of getting a hold of us. I have talked to numerous representatives and 3 managers trying to fix the problem. They promise they will get me a new sim card they either don't send it or send the wrong one.

Q: How did this make you feel?

How do you think?

Q: If you had a bad experience, what should they've done differently to make you feel good about the service provided?

Get me the right sim card and make up for all the time my son has not had a phone. If they can't find the right card then they should buy him a phone that will and he paid 170.00 for that phone.

Phone is bought separately
by: sb

I'm not sure I understand your comment, but the phone was bought separately - not from Tracfone. I don't know why the BYOP kit wouldn't work with it, but $170 for an unlocked phone is not unreasonable depending on what model it is.

170.00 seems stupid
by: Anonymous

In today's market phone companies offer great phones for little or no money at all (Samsung under 100.00). It seems to me that if Tracfone feels one is stupid enough to pay 170.00 for a phone, they can wait. It is outrageous that they made no attempt to either to exchange the phone, take it back for a full credit and not charge for that month.
